The method involves using a signal of a torque sensor (3) to determine an inclination value for a vehicle (1) in connection with a mass value. An acceleration sensor (4) i.e. position sensor, is calibrated by the inclination value under a condition that the inclination value falls below a pre-defined threshold value and does not fall below another pre-defined threshold value, where the former threshold value is not smaller, in particular larger than the latter threshold value. Another mass value is determined using the calibrated acceleration sensor. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
