DEVICES TO REDUCE MYOCARDIAL REPERFUSION INJURY

Devices that mitigate reperfusion injury (Rl) in a clinically practical manner so as to avoid significantly increasing time to reperfusion. The system has a guide catheter (80), a guide wire (100) and an infusion catheter (370) which is connected to an external source of pressurized chilled liquid. The infusion catheter is configured to be advanced through the guide catheter, over the guide wire and can deliver the chilled liquid distal of a coronory artery occlusion.
