A backlight device (24) is equipped with: a light-guiding plate (20) that comprises a light radiation face (20b) provided at a front face of the light-guiding plate (20), an opposite plate face (20c) provided at a back face thereof, a groove section (20d) provided on the opposite plate face (20c) in groove form, a light entering face (20d1) provided at one side face within the groove section (20d), and an opposite side face (20d3) provided at the other side face within the groove section (20d); a heat radiation member (36) that comprises a section that is in contact with the opposite side face (20d3) and a section that is arranged at one end face (20a1) side of the light-guiding plate (20) that is provided at the opposite side of the opposite side face (20d3) with a portion of the light-guiding plate (20) therebetween, and that sandwiches at least a portion of the light-guiding plate (20) that is interposed between both the abovementioned sections; an LED circuit board (30) that is arranged at the section that is in contact with the opposite side face (20d3) of the heat radiation member (36), and arranged at a side opposite the side that is in contact with the opposite side face (20d3); and LEDs (28) arranged upon the LED circuit board (30). |
