PURPOSE: A humidifier and a control method thereof are provided to operate the humidifier in a state where a tray and a disc assembly are cleaned and to improve the convenience of users by informing a time when the tray needs cleaning. CONSTITUTION: A humidifier comprises a housing(10), a tray(30), a disc assembly, a mounting detection part, a control part, an information informing part, and a first timer. The tray is detachably installed in the housing and stores water for humidifying. The disc assembly is rotatably installed in the tray. The mounting detection part detects mounting the tray. The control part determines the cleaning time of the tray. The information informing part informs that the tray needs cleaning. The first timer counts a first elapsed time from when the tray or the operation time of the humidifier. |
