Provided are a novel medicinal composition for treating or preventing hepatocellular carcinoma and a therapy method. Disclosed is a medicinal composition for treating or preventing hepatic cancer which comprises a chemotherapeutic agent combined with glypican 3 antibody. Also disclosed are a medicinal composition to be used in combination with a chemotherapeutic agent for treating or preventing hepatic cancer which comprises glypican 3 antibody as the active ingredient; and a medicinal composition to be used in combination with glypican 3 antibody for treating or preventing hepatic cancer which comprises as the active ingredient a chemotherapeutic agent. The combined use of a chemotherapeutic agent with glypican 3 antibody can achieve better therapeutic effect than the chemotherapeutic agent employed alone. Moreover, side effects in treating hepatic caner with the use of the chemotherapeutic agent can be reduced thereby.
