PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element which is obtained by forming functional film on a substrate through a wet process and improved so that the difference in film thickness of the functional film between a center portion and a peripheral portion of a display area caused by the difference in dry speed therebetween is suppressed.SOLUTION: A display element 100 has a display area in which plural pixels are arranged in a matrix form, and has a substrate 101 on which a base layer 111 containing a first electrode 102 is laminated, a partition wall 105 which is located above the base layer 111 and defines an opening portion, a function layer 106 located above the base layer 111 and within the opening portion, and a second electrode 108 confronting the first electrode 102 through the function layer 106. The end portion of the upper surface of the function layer 106 of a pixel existing at the center portion of the display area is located to be higher than the end portion of the upper surface of the function layer 106 of a pixel existing at the peripheral edge portion of the display area. |
