PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device for an internal combustion engine preventing an unnecessary spark other than that in an ignition plug.SOLUTION: An ignition device 1 is an ignition device for an internal combustion engine, which is used for supplying ignition voltage to an ignition pug 2 installed in a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. The ignition device 1 has output wiring OUT for electrically connecting with a center electrode of the ignition plug 2, and ground wiring GND for electrically connecting a ground electrode of the ignition plug 2 through a return cable 4. The ignition device 1 includes an ignition circuit PA for generating the ignition voltage between the output wiring OUT and the ground wiring GND; a metallic housing 10 storing the ignition circuit PA; and a return cable terminal 18 penetrating the metallic housing 10, attached to the metallic housing 10 so as to keep an electrically isolated state from the metallic housing 10, connected to the ground wiring GND on the inner side of the metallic housing 10, and connected to the return cable 4 on the outer side of the metallic housing 10. |
