A power cable breaking detection method for an inverter system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a step of detecting the voltage of a battery; a step of detecting a DC link voltage; a step of detecting the breaking of a power cable based on the difference between the battery voltage and the DC link voltage; and a step of stopping a motor when the breaking of the power cable is detected.
