PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, capable of improving cycle characteristics while maintaining initial capacity even under a high-voltage use environment.SOLUTION: In a lithium ion secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator and an electrolyte, the positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material including a composite metal oxide which is represented by general formula: LiCoNiMnDO(where, D represents a doping component and at least one selected from among Al, Mg, Ti, Sn, Zn, W, Zr, Mo, Fe and Na, and p+q+r+s=1, 0≤p≤1, 0≤q<1, 0≤r<1 and 0≤s<1 are satisfied), and lithium phosphate-based glass. The content of the lithium phosphate-based glass is 0.1 mass% or more and less than 3 mass% when the total of the positive electrode active material and the lithium phosphate-based glass is 100 mass%, and the charge potential of the positive electrode is 4.4 V or more and 4.6 V or less based on lithium. |
