To provide a microparticle isolation device capable of extracting only target microparticles from a sheath flow flowing through a flow path stably at high speed, provided is a microparticle isolation device provided with: a main flow path through which liquid containing microparticles flows; a branch flow path which communicates with the main flow path; an actuator which generates negative pressure in the branch flow path; and a drive unit which controls voltage to be applied to the actuator to produce a pressure change including a step waveform component and an undershoot waveform component in the branch flow path. In this microparticle isolation device, a fluid with a volume required to draw in the microparticles can be brought into the branch flow path by negative pressure derived from the step waveform component. Simultaneously, the operation of drawing the microparticles into the branch flow path can be speeded up by large negative pressure derived from the undershoot waveform component. |
