The commutator (1) has commutator slats (5, 6) fixed with a support structure (4), and a suppressor device i.e. ring cylinder, turned with a contact surface of the support structure. The suppressor device comprises multiple suppressor elements that are electrical contacted with the slats, and a base body that supports an electrical guiding contact element. The contact element projects into a front-sided aperture between the support structure and the slats in an axial direction (3) such that the slats are electrically contacted with the contact element by a press contact.
