An optical plate and a backlight assembly having the same are provided to simplify the structure by performing a diffusion function and a prism function using one prism plate rather than a plurality of sheets. An optical plate includes a base plate(21) and a plurality of prism patterns(23,25,27,29) formed on the base plate. The peak angles of the prism patterns are different from each other. The peak angle of each of the prism patterns is variable so that a prism function is implemented. A diffusion function is implemented by the peak angle of the prism patterns in the center region. |
