PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication method, an optical transmitter, an optical receiver and an optical communication system, capable of suppressing inter-pulse interference in a signal mark/space level, which is one factor of EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) deterioration, to generate a time-division multiplex signal of an identical wavelength in a light region, in a broadband ubiquitous network using a ubiquitous antenna system.SOLUTION: When modulating a pulsed optical carrier wave by a modulation signal in a ubiquitous antenna system to which broadband optical transmission is applied, the pulsed optical carrier wave is intensity-modulated after AM/FM converting the modulation signal, instead of direct intensity-modulation of the pulsed optical carrier wave by the modulation signal, so that receiver sensitivity is improved while using a simple optical receiver configuration.
