PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an image signal that can three-dimensionally be viewed by simple signal processing.SOLUTION: By extracting a spatial feature amount of an input image signal and subjecting different emphasis processes to which the feature amount is applied to the input image signal, a left eye image and a right eye image are generated. Specifically, signals, obtained by adding adding/subtracting a luminance differential signal for the input image signal or a signal generated by non-linearly converting the luminance differential signal to the input image signal, are generated, and a group of the two signals is set to be a group of the left eye image and the right eye image. Thus, an image that can three-dimensionally be viewed can be generated by simple signal processing. An addition signal where the left eye image and the right eye image are added becomes equal to the input signal, thereby, the image can be viewed as a usual two-dimensional image when the image is observed without using glasses for three-dimensional view. |
