PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column connector, adapted to the movement in case of emergency in a hospital and a geriatric home to be simply mounted so that two wheelchairs are connected to each other in a column, and the wheelchair in the rear is hand-pushed, improved in trafficability, operability and attachment/detachment performance, and coping with a difference in dimensions of wheelchairs on the market.SOLUTION: In this column connector for wheelchairs, two front and rear connecting rods sliding along the right and left arm rests of a front wheelchair and the right and left arm rests of a rear wheelchair and connected to each other by a universal joint of a suitable shape provided at the intermediate part are respectively provided with a pin projecting substantially at right angles to the axial direction of the rod. The pins are abutted on a rear vertical frame and a front vertical frame of the arm rest of each wheelchair to give thrust to the wheelchairs, and a cylindrical protective cover for the joint is provided to slide along the connecting rods. The column connector for the wheelchairs includes a bonnet put on the connecting rods and the armrest from above. |
