Bubble column reactor (1) for producing a phase contact between a liquid phase and a gaseous phase, comprises a cover (21) and a perforated plate (5). The cover bounds a reactor internal chamber (2) of the bubble column reactor for receiving the liquid phase. The cover extends along the longitudinal axis. The perforated plate is arranged in the reactor internal chamber. The perforated plate extends along a perpendicular cross-sectional area (8) of the reactor internal chamber oriented to the longitudinal axis. The perforated plate comprises many holes for carrying out the gaseous phase. Bubble column reactor (1) for producing a phase contact between a liquid phase and a gaseous phase, comprises a cover (21) and a perforated plate (5). An independent claim is also included for producing the phase contact between liquid and gaseous phase, comprising (a) introducing the liquid phase into the reactor internal chamber of the bubble column reactor so that the liquid phase is present on the perforated plate, and (b) passing the gaseous phase through the holes so that the gaseous phase comes in phase contact with the liquid phase present on the perforated plate.
