摘要 A high-speed data channel allocation method, a system thereof, and a base station controller therefor are provided to enable a mobile terminal to receives a high-speed data service by receiving a high-speed data channel for a predetermined time from a base station having the coverage in which the high-speed data service is possible in a handoff region, in case the mobile terminal moves to a base station having the coverage in which the high-speed data service cannot be supported. In case a mobile communication terminal(110) receives a reverse fundamental channel(RFCH) and reverse high-speed data channel from a source base station(120), and then moves to the area of a base station(130), the terminal is located in a handoff area in which the region of the source base station and the region of the target base transceiver station are overlapped. At this time, the target base station assigns only the RFCH. If the reverse high-speed data channel cannot be assigned, the mobile terminal maintains the reverse high-speed data channel for a predetermined time, and then receives a RFCH from a target base station in a new area to perform the handoff.
