PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer unit capable of reducing a fluctuation in primary transfer pressure and a primary transfer nip width in a primary transfer unit to suppress the occurrence of shock jitter, even when a recording medium enters a secondary transfer unit to cause speed fluctuation and tension fluctuation to a belt-like intermediate transfer body.SOLUTION: A primary transfer unit that primary-transfers a toner image formed on a photoreceptor drum 7Bk to an intermediate transfer belt 10 is provided with primary transfer pressure means 17 for pressing a primary transfer roller 8Bk toward the intermediate transfer belt 10. The primary transfer pressure means 17 has a pressure arm 16 attached with a damper 15 as attenuation means for attenuating vibration of the primary transfer roller 8Bk in a pressure direction due to the primary transfer pressure means 17.
