PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine capable of regulating the rotation of a sewing machine main shaft while a motor is stopped without adding a dedicated mechanism or an actuator.SOLUTION: A thread cutting mechanism 32 of a sewing machine 1 includes: a thread cutting cam plate 41 which is provided with a cam groove 41a which is engageable with a drive roller member 43 and which can transmit the rotation force of a sewing machine main shaft 10 to a movable blade 35, and a groove part in a region H of the cam groove 41a which is deeper than the cam groove 41a and which makes the sewing machine main shaft 10 unable to rotate; and switching means which is provided with a drive lever 42 that is movable between an engaging position where the drive roller member 43 engages with the cam groove 41a, a deep groove engaging position where the drive roller member 43 engages with the groove part in the region H of the cam groove 41a and a non-engaging position where the drive roller member 43 is separated from the thread cutting cam plate 41, a rocking force generation mechanism 38 which moves the drive lever 42, and a drive pulse motor 46 which drives the rocking force generation mechanism 38. |
