PURPOSE: A methyl mercury preprocessing method is provided to simply and safely perform an analysis of methyl mercury which is included in the biomaterial sample by using acetonitrile as an extraction solvent. CONSTITUTION: A methyl mercury preprocessing method comprises the following steps. Methyl mercury in the inside of sample is extracted by using a water-soluble organic solvent. The water-soluble organic solvent is acetonitrile. The methyl mercury preprocessing method additionally includes the following steps. The sample, sodium compound, and hydrochloric acid are mixed before the step of extracting. The sodium compound is sodium chloride. The sodium chloride solution and the hydrochloric acid are mixed with the sample after the sodium chloride solution and the hydrochloric acid are separately made. The concentration of the sodium chloride solution is 5-30 w/v%, and the volume ratio of the sodium chloride solution and the hydrochloric acid is 5:1-2:1. When the used amount of the sample is 0.25-1.0 g, the total volume of the hydrochloric acid and the sodium chloride solution is 3-10 mL. [Reference numerals] (AA) NaCl method; (BB) Na_2CO_3 method |
