The present invention relates to a perforated retroreflective trim and a method for producing a perforated retroreflective trim. The method includes the steps of providing a retroreflective trim comprising a retroreflective material and having first and second sides forcing one or more rigid members through the retroreflective trim to remove one or more portions of the retroreflective trim to provide one or more openings through the retroreflective trim extending between the sides of the retroreflective trim, wherein the rigid members are heated when forced through the retroreflective trim. The invention also provides a retroreflective film of material including opposite first and second sides; holes or openings provided through the retroreflective film of material and extending entirely through the film of material between the first and second sides, wherein a portion of the retroreflective film around the one or more openings formed in the retroreflective film which through melting or softening is partially drawn through and into the openings.
