<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high capacity positive electrode for a lithium-ion battery, which has a large discharge capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The positive electrode for a lithium-ion battery uses a main active material which is expressed by a general formula: xLi<SB>2</SB>MO<SB>3</SB>-(1-x)Li[Ni<SB>1-y-z</SB>Co<SB>y</SB>A<SB>z</SB>]O<SB>2</SB>where x is a number satisfying 0.4<x<1.0; M is one or more elements selected from a group consisting of Mn, Ti, and Zr; A is one or more elements selected from a group consisting of B, Al, Ga, and In; and 0<y≤0.3, 0<z≤0.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
