<p>A system for anaerobic digestion of organic waste is disclosed comprising a plurality of containers sealingly connected end-on-end and/or stacked on top of each other to form a tunnel to receive the waste, the tunnel configured to be sealingly closed for a given period for digestion of the waste contained therein. The system comprises a plurality of bins for loading the waste into the tunnel, and rails on which the plurality of bins containing the waste are loaded into the tunnel. The containers may comprise cargo containers, and the method may further comprise drawing off gas (methane) produced during the waste digestion. Methods for the anaerobic digestion of organic waste are also claimed.</p> |
