PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float type steam trap capable of setting or confirming upper and lower parts of a float valve from an external part in no uncertain manner, and capable of performing exact plumbing while maintaining proper appearance of a float valve. SOLUTION: The inside of a casing 1 is airtightly divided into two parts of a condensate storage part 9 communicated with an inlet 5 and a condensate discharge part 11 communicated with an outlet 6, and a valve port 14 communicated to the condensate storage part 9 and the condensate discharge part 11 is penetrated. A partition wall 8 provided with a float valve 2 which is stored in the condensate storage part 9 and opens and closes the valve port 14 in accordance with an increase and decrease of steam condensate and the casing 1 are disposed so as to be relatively rotatable to each other in the circumferential direction. A spindle 12 protruded outward from the condensate discharge part 11 is disposed on the center of wall surface on the side of the condensate discharge part 11 in the partition wall 8, the protruded end of the spindle 12 is fixed on the outside of the condensate discharge part 11 with a fixing means 13, and on the protruded end of the spindle 12, a nameplate 22, displayed while the upper and lower parts of denotation S are caused to accord with the upper and lower parts of the float valve 2, is attached so that the nameplate cannot be rotated.
