Lighter comprises: a spirally wound layer of wooden material having the wood material layer in the unwound condition which has a width and a comparatively greater length; transverse web-areas proceeding in longitudinal direction and having transverse webs which extend at least over part of the width of the wood material layer; and wood fiber regions with wood fibers extending longitudinally side by side. The wood material layer is wound to form a transverse axis substantially parallel to the width direction of the wood material layer. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a device for producing lighters, comprising a first cutting device, preferably a comb knife or many circular blade wheels for introducing groove-shaped recesses (10) into a wood material blank (2), a second cutting device, preferably a planer, a cutting or peeling knife, for cutting at least one wood material layer of a wooden material blank, at least one displacement device, which moves wood material blank relative to the first and/or second cutting devices or which moves the first and/or second cutting device relative to the wood material blank, and a control unit, which is designed such that the first cutting device is movable such that it contacts the groove-shaped recesses in the wooden material blank during a movement of the displacement device between a cutting position and a lift position, in which it is located at a distance from the wood material blank; and (2) producing lighters for a fireplace, barbecue fire or a solid fuel stove, comprising providing a wood material blank having a width and a comparatively larger length, introducing wood material blank by a first cutting device in the longitudinal direction such that portions extending at least over part of the width of the side remain free of the groove-shaped recesses, and cutting at least one wood material layer of a wooden material blank, by a second cutting device. |
