A connecting component for a secondary battery given in the present invention includes: a first metal plate of which one end is branched to form a first extension plate and a second extension plate at the upper part and the lower part, respectively; a second metal plate of which one end is branched to form a third extension plate and a fourth extension plate at the upper part and the lower part, respectively, where the third extension plate is placed above the first extension plate and the fourth extension plate is placed between the first and the second extension plate or below the second extension plate; a first PTC element which is placed between the first extension plate and the third extension plate to connect the first extension plate and the third extension plate; and a second PTC element which is placed between the second extension plate and the fourth extension plate to connect the second extension plate and the fourth extension plate. According to the present invention, when a protection circuit malfunctions so an overcurrent flows in a secondary battery, the PTC elements of the connecting component installed in the current path of the secondary battery block the flow of current, securing the safety in using the secondary battery. Furthermore, the resistance increase of the secondary battery can be minimized by connecting multiple PTC elements in parallel. |
