<p>A method of winding a warp on the warping drum of a cone sectional warping machine having an adjustable cone (1b) comprises winding on a number of warp band layers (18) in the required staggered relation sufficient to allow measurement of the slope of the conically inclined lateral face that is formed, said face having a substantially straight-line generatrix (30), determining the inclination of said face and adjusting the inclination of the drum cone to correspond to said measured inclination.
