The present invention relates to an image data recovering apparatus and a method of the same. The image data recovering apparatus comprises: a data pieces classifier which classifies analyzed file information of fragmented image data read in a cluster unit from a storage unit; a data pieces connecting unit which recovers the fragmented image data connected using the file information of the fragmented image data classified in the data pieces classifier; and a recovery file generator which stores a newly generated file allocation table of the image data recovered in the data pieces connecting unit. By providing the image data recovering apparatus, fragmented image data can be recovered by connecting the fragmented image data even when file allocation table (FAT) is deleted.
