A method for processing an MPEG data includes a step of obtaining one or more access units including media data coded through a process including encapsulation and packetizing; a step of determining a duration flag indicating whether duration information on access units is effective in a media processing unit (MPU); and a step of inserting the duration flag into a header of the MPU.
