A window lifter 24, for lifting a vehicle window, has an axially driven threaded nut 30 mounted about a motor 32 driven rotatable lead screw 26. A window pane mounting bracket 42 is movably mounted on the nut. Preferably the nut comprising a protrusion 44 cooperating with a slot 46 in the mounting element to provide the mounting bracket 42 with pivot and translation such that the window pane can tilt and translate during opening and closing of the window as it is guided in a curved path. The motor may be coaxially mounted with the lead screw. |
