<p>The system has call pushbuttons (5, 7) for reserving passenger elevators (2) and a freight elevator (3) for use by passengers. A control system (9) is arranged to allocate the freight elevator as a response to a call received from the call pushbutton (7) of the freight elevator. The system allocates passenger elevators or the freight elevator to a user as a response to the call received from the call pushbutton (5) of the passenger elevators. The call is transmitted to the control system, which allocates the passenger elevators or freight elevator to the user.
