PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond-coated cutting tool capable of exhibiting superior wear resistance over a long period of time during the high-speed cutting of a hard-to-cut material such as a CFRP and an Al alloy. SOLUTION: In this diamond-coated cutting tool, a diamond film of 1-15 μm in film thickness is coated on the surface of the base of the tool which is formed of a WC-based cemented carbide containing WC and at least Co. A graphite phase of 5-200 μm in width is formed starting at the surface of the base to the surface of the diamond film in the film thickness direction. Desirably, the graphite phase is formed on the surface of the diamond film in a lattice shape at pitches of 50-300 μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
