The tool (1) has a tool shell including a bottom side (5) and a top side for shaping a fiber-reinforced component. The shell has an integrally molded ribbed structure (6) on the bottom side. The structure has reinforcing ribs (7) including coefficients of thermal expansion same as that of the shell. The ribs and the shell are made of the same material. The shell and the structure together form a single-piece element. The shell and the ribs have a wall thickness that is constant across the entire shell. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a tool for producing a fiber-reinforced component.
