A feminine care absorbent article 500 comprises an absorbent structure 521 that is configured for disposition adjacent a female wearer's vaginal region to absorb bodily fluids discharged by the wearer. A shell supports the absorbent structure at the vaginal region and has an adhesive on a body-facing surface 515 thereof for adhering the shell directly to the wearer. A placement aid 580 is disposed on the absorbent structure 521 and/or shell to provide at least one of a tactile sensation 582 and a visual cue. The placement aid 580 is aligned with a target location on the wearer to facilitate positive alignment of the article with the wearer. Other feminine care absorbent articles are also disclosed; including one embodiment where the article can be folded and unfolded whilst still adhered to the wearer and the anterior and posterior portions can be secured together by securing components. Other absorbent articles comprise at least one detachment component to facilitate detaching the article from the wearer with a body facing surface that is free from adhesive, a garment securing means and a placement aid comprising a finger strip.
