The system (9) has a connector (5) with an interlocking device (52) and an electrical contact element. A connector restraint device (2) has a complementary interlocking device (30) and a base element (20). The interlocking devices are designed and arranged such that the connector is lockable with the restraint device. The base element is connected to a surface i.e. panel of a motor vehicle such that the electrical contact element of the connector is electrically contacted with an electrical contact region of the surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for electrically connecting an electrically conductive contact device arranged in a surface i.e. panel of a motor vehicle, with an electric cable.
