Dual Buffer Architecture and Data Management for Non-Volatile based Main Memory

PURPOSE: A dual buffer structure and a data management method for a non-volatile main memory are provided to improve the performance of a memory system by supplementing a performance gap between a cache memory and a non-volatile memory. CONSTITUTION: A memory system comprises a non-volatile memory device and a controller (120). The controller accesses to the non-volatile memory device in response to an access request from a cache memory of a host. The controller includes a first buffer (121) and a second buffer (122). The first buffer stores data by a unit larger than a data storage unit of the non-volatile memory device. The second buffer stores data that has been requested for access from the cache memory among the data that is stored in the first buffer.
