<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a battery more appropriately than before, by using a coolant. <P>SOLUTION: A battery is used which includes a coolant including at least a battery and a coolant 1A. The coolant 1A includes: at least a water retention layer 2 having at least one kind of a water absorption and desorption material for absorbing and desorbing water depending on temperature; and a heat absorption layer 3 having at least one kind of a heat absorption material for absorbing heat by dissolving the heat absorption material in the water.
