PURPOSE:To prevent a viewer from being discomforted in a blank period wherein no image is reproduced by muting a signal only while a magnetic head is at an intermediate part between adjacent tracks when the magnetic head is transferred from one track to another track for tracking. CONSTITUTION:A controller 100 turns on a signal DISK to rotate a disk 10 at a constant speed, and the head 26 is assumed as it is on track. In this case, when the head 26 is moved to its adjacent track, a signal MUTE is turned on, and then a video signal processing circuit 36 mutes the video signal in response. Thus, a viewer is prevented from being discomforted owing to the indication of disordered images on a video monitor device connected to a device terminal 40 when the head 26 is transferred in a section between recording tracks where the recording signal level is low. |
