The mechanism has a sphere (10) representing a moon and comprising two distinct hemispheres, where the sphere is mounted to pivot with reference to a support (14) along a first axis (A-A) of the sphere. A first kinematic drive chain rotates the sphere around the axis by rotation per lunation. The sphere is mounted to pivot along a second axis (B-B) perpendicular to the first axis and crossing the first axis at center of the sphere. A second kinematic drive chain rotates the sphere around the second axis to correct the inclination of the slope of the moon.
