<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition capable of forming an electron reduction layer by coating by means of screen printing of high production efficiency, on a surface of a positive electrode substrate of a dye-sensitized solar battery. <P>SOLUTION: The coating composition is a coating composition used for forming the electron reduction layer 7 on the surface of the positive electrode substrate 1, comprises an organic solvent solution of a platinum compound, and has at least 10 cP or more of viscosity at 25°C. H<SB>2</SB>PtCl<SB>6</SB>_6H<SB>2</SB>O is preferable as the platinum compound, and a mixture of an ethylene cellulose and terpineol is preferable as an organic solvent.
