The invention relates to a tilting mechanism for unlocking an electrical contactor, having a moving contact lever, a control device (10) for unlocking and a lever (1) which can pivot about a shaft (2) and has on the one hand a groove (4), into which one end (5) of the moving contact lever engages, and on the other hand a stud (6) on which a device rests which can rotate about a fixed shaft (13) and is supported by the control device (10) for unlocking. According to the invention, this device is a roller bearing (14, 15) which is coaxial with respect to the fixed shaft and is in rotating contact with a single roller (7). This roller is supported on the opposite side on the stud (6), which is a cylindrical surface whose radius of curvature is equal to the sum of the diameter of the roller (7) and the radius of the roller bearing (14, 15). In the locked switching state, the centre of this radius of curvature is located in the centre of the fixed shaft (13). Such a tilting mechanism requires very little control energy for unlocking the contactor. <IMAGE>
