Apparatus for separating off heavy material from flume water. The apparatus (1) is provided with a perforated (17) drum (16) which revolves about a horizontal longitudinal axis (12). On each end of the drum (16) is attached a radially outwardly projecting annular channel (20; 21), whose interior (25) is subdivided by partitions (26) into peripheral chambers (27). Each peripheral chamber (27) has on the inside a through-hole (29) for large heavy bodies (19). Radially outwardly on each annular channel (20; 21) is attached an additional annular channel (23; 24), whose interior (30) is subdivided by outer partitions (31) into outer peripheral chambers (32). The outer peripheral chambers are connected via break-throughs (35) on the one hand to the peripheral chambers (27) and on the other hand via outer break-throughs (37) to collection pockets (39; 40) of a trough. Flume conduits (4; 6) which feed the mixture (3) to be separated and conduct away any residual mixture (5) are connected to the trough (7).
