The invention relates to a pay-off of a machine for continuously forming tubular sections consisting of a plurality of strips made from fibrous, cellulosic, metallic, plastic or other materials adhesively bonded together by a spiralling device or by a linear forming machine, this pay-off comprising reels of strip materials pivoting on pairs of spindles supported by a metal frame. This pay-off is characterised in that it includes variable-speed drive elements 9 driving the reels 4, 5 and acted upon by a regulating device 13 which synchronises the unwinding speed of the strips 3 with the operating speed of the forming machine. The invention relates to installations for continuously manufacturing tubular sections serving for packaging and/or for support. <IMAGE>
