The present invention relates to a device and a method for detecting a foreign material in a wireless power transmission system. The present invention provides a wireless power receiving device for detecting a foreign material comprising a power measurement unit for generating request power information displaying the request power needed in the wireless power receiving device, transmitting the request power information to a wireless power transmitting device and measuring the power induced from the wireless power transmitting device; and an auxiliary coil for receiving the power induced from the wireless power transmitting device. According to the present invention, the foreign material interposed between the wireless power transmitting device and the wireless power receiving device is recognized and removed by a user, thereby preventing a device from being damaged by the foreign material. |
