According to an embodiment, a method includes a step of receiving an input video stream according to a first version of video properties such as a frame rate, profiles, levels, and coding standards in a single encoding engine and a step of generating a second encoded stream according to a second version of the video properties and a first encoded stream according to the first version of the video properties. The second encoded stream is generated based on video coding information used for generating the first encoded stream.
