PURPOSE:To prevent infiltration of water due to dew formation into a gel film portion, by arranging a side wall of a cooling water tank with a H-shaped section double structure comprising an internal side wall, and a external side wall and a link wall while the port below the link wall is shortened. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water tank 8 is built with a H-shaped section double wall comprising an internal wall 9a and an external wall 9b and a link wall 9c for linking the two side walls. Then, the part below the wall 9c is make remarkably shorter than that thereabove. The bottom surface of the water tank 8 is provided with a bottom plate 10 made of material transparent and better heat conductivity such as alumina ceramic. A gel sheet is placed tight on the bottom plate 10 to be a separate zone 11 and carried on an electrode tank 2 through a filter paper 12, a magnet 13 and a shielding plate 15. With such an arrangement, the double wall serves to eliminate dew formation on an outer surface of the wall 9b and as to the dew formation inside the wall 9b, the part above the wall 9c is intercepted by the wall 9c to reduce dew formation below the wall 9c thereby in no way interfering with electrophoresis. A better cooling is possible because of the bottom plate 10. |
