PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens unit capable of reading a dot pattern in which an information code is encoded by a tablet type PC, a smart phone and a portable telephone, and to provide a circle pattern in which the information code is encoded to be used for the identification of the lens unit or the like.SOLUTION: The lens unit for dot pattern reading configured so as to be mounted on a camera and an information processor including reading means for imaging a print medium printed with a dot pattern by the camera, and for decoding the dot pattern into an information code includes: a cylindrical lens holder having a lower opening on which the camera is mounted with the photographic port surrounded and an upper opening with which the print medium is contacted in surface at both ends; and a lens arranged and designed at a predetermined position in the cylindrical lens holder such that the print medium contacted in surface with the upper opening is within a depth of field for the camera mounted on the lower opening with the photographic port surrounded.
