PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine pages without the presence of significant contents other than page decorative objects such as logo marks and page numbers as blank paper in an image reading device.SOLUTION: In an image reading device, an exclusion area detection unit 12, when an object in an image of a page of attention is substantially the same as an object in an image of a page adjacent to the page of attention, and is present at substantially the same position as that of the object in the image of the page adjacent to the page of attention, detects the object in the image of the page of attention as an exclusion area; and a blank paper determination unit 13, when performing blank paper determination to the image of the page of attention, performs the blank paper determination to a remaining area of the image of the page of attention, the remaining area remaining after the exclusion of the exclusion area detected for the page of attention. |
