According to the prevent invention, provided are method and apparatus for relay welding management of a parallel pack battery system comprising a first slave battery management module to an N^th slave battery management module which are installed in first to N^th battery packs respectively for diagnosing the welding according to the diagnosis request signals about a relay equipped in each battery pack then producing and outputting the diagnosis information; and a master battery for transferring the diagnosis request signal to at least one module except the salve battery management module corresponding to the battery pack which is processed by the welding diagnosis and for receiving the diagnosis information.
