PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving tailing caused by a display time difference in each frequency component, while improving motion blurs by using a spatial frequency separating system, and to suppress image quality deterioration, such as image persistence caused by bias of electric charge which is generated when the spatial frequency separating system is applied.SOLUTION: An image of each frame is obtained as an input image. An image in which high frequency components included in the input image are enhanced is generated as a high-frequency-component enhanced image. A composite image is generated by synthesizing the input image and a past input image of a past frame that precedes the input image. An image which is composed of low frequency components included in the composite image is generated as a low frequency component image. Then, the high-frequency-component enhanced image and the low frequency component image are alternately outputted as sub-frames of the input image. |
